Brazil – a vast and expanding field

October’s TOUR stop is of special importance since it will take place in one of the world’s largest agricultural economies. Brazil produces a staggering variety of fruits, vegetables, livestock, and other commoditiesincluding sugar, coffee, soybeans, and cotton. Of all exporters globally, it comes in third, behind only the European Union and the United States.

Consumers of Brazilian agricultural products, both at home and abroad, are holding Brazil’s producers to increasingly high environmental and food safety standards. The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA), along with the Brazilian Supermarket Association (ABRAS), have recently been promoting traceability measures among supply chain stakeholders. Furthermore, ongoing efforts to preserve the rich biodiversity of Brazil’s Amazon and Cerrado ecosystems have gained attention in recent years, particularly for often appearing to conflict with agricultural interests.

We look forward to this opportune moment to share our farm assurance solutions with Brazil’s producers and supply chain stakeholders. We expect this TOUR stop tobuild awareness of the benefits of certification and to move the conversation forward with Brazil’s producers who are eager to demonstrate their responsible farming practices to the world.
