One of GLOBALG.A.P.’s most important annual trade fairs, this year’s Asia Fruit Logistica, was a successful event for networking with the industry and building new connections.

Taking place in Hong Kong this past September, the trade fair attracted more than 470 exhibitor companies from 38 countries, the majority from Asia and Europe, and over 8,100 visitors from 64 countries. Hong Kong is an ideal place for a trade fair of this size as it is a key link to China and Asia.

Flavio Alzueta, GLOBALG.A.P. Director Marketing and Strategy, stated, "This was my fourth visit to Asia Fruit Logistica, and I am very impressed with the continued growth of this important trade fair. The number of commercial operations continues to rise, making this trade fair a must for GLOBALG.A.P., as our organization plays a fundamental role of facilitating transactions by ensuring access to safe products.”

GLOBALG.A.P. representatives visited 20 of our GLOBALG.A.P. members who were also exhibiting at the trade fair, including some of our SUMMIT 2014 sponsors. They also met with Hong Kong retailers to discuss collaboration opportunities. GLOBALG.A.P. also gained new members who are eager to contribute to spreading Good Agricultural Practices in China, Asia and the rest of the world.

GLOBALG.A.P. plans to be at next year’s Asia Fruit Logistica, so save the date: 2-4 September 2015, Hong Kong, Asia-World Expo.
