Inspired by the vision to facilitate post-WWII relationship-bulding between European horticulturists, a group of representatives from the national grower associations of Western Europe came together in Zurich to form the Association Internationale des Producteurs de l'Horticulture (AIPH), laying the foundations for an international community that exists to this day.

The AIPH aims to put flower, plant and landscaping services on a global agenda and to stimulate increased demand for ornamental trees, plants and flowers worldwide. It works to protect and promote the interests of the industry, provide an international hub for industry information and knowledge exchange, and lead best practice in ornamentals production.

The AIPH is also responsible for approving the world’s finest horticultural exhibitions. Upholding the very highest standards, the association ensures that approved exhibitions benefit growers and visitors alike by inspiring greater appreciation of ornamental plants. Upcoming expos include Expo 2016 Antalya in Turkey and the 2016 Tangshan International Horticultural Exposition in China.

The AIPH has been hosting the International Grower of the Year Awards since 2010, celebrating the world’s best ornamentals growers and recognizing outstanding achievement in the sector. Their annual Awards Gala is taking place at this year’s IPM Essen trade show in Germany.

“We are honored to sponsor their Grower of the Year Award ceremony at IPM in Essen this year and welcome them as a new GLOBALG.A.P. member organization”, said Kristian Moeller, CEO of GLOBALG.A.P. “They are a natural and important partner for encouraging collaboration within the horticultural industry on its journey toward more enhanced sustainability.”
