From 7-10 November 2016, GLOBALG.A.P. provided aquaculture training for future Farm Assurers at Jeju, Korea. With participants from Korea, China, Morocco, Sweden and Turkey, the voice of the GLOBALG.A.P. Aquaculture certification system has increased.

The training included both theory and practice in the form of a field visit to an olive flounder (paralichthys olivaceus) farming facility. This provided an opportunity to learn more about how good water quality sourcing and good animal welfare practices can enable farmers to provide fish without any chemical treatment. The farmed fish is of such a high quality that it is consumed as sushi in local restaurants.

The training was kindly hosted by ISIDOR SUSTAINABILITY RESEARCH INSTITUTE.
