For the Product Development Department , GLOBALG.A.P. is seeking a self-directed, high-integrity individual (male/female) to work full time remotely on the GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice (GRASP) Add-on standard as a Social Expert. A 3-month training period in Cologne is required. Business travel is a requirement of this position.

Responsibilities:

STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT

  • Provide techncial support during the development process of the GRASP National Interpretation Guidelines.
  • Approval of auditors for those countries where a National Interpretation Guideline has not yet been developed.
  • Interaction with the GRASP Technical Committee to reach final approval of developed GRASP National Interpretation Guidelines.

MAINTENANCE

  • Elaborate and maintain an approved process for the development of National Interpretation Guidelines.
  • General maintenance of the developed National Interpretation Guidelines (ensure regular updates, check for completeness, etc.)
  • Address any technical questions from growers, certification bodies, Farm Assurers and other stakeholders regarding the implementation of  the National Interpretation Guideline.

TRAINING

  • Deliver formal GRASP public and private trainings to growers, certification bodies, Farm Assurers when required.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferably Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Humanities & Social Sciences (B.A.)
  • In-depth knowledge of social systems in agriculture
  • In-depth knowledge of the International Labour Organization’s conventions and recommendations, other social compliance programs
  • Lead Auditor Training /Qualification (e.g. SA 8000)

SKILLS

  • Excellent written, technical and verbal communication skills in English. Spanish language fluency an advantage
  • Excellent coordination and organizational skills
  • Excellent conflict management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years professional experience in the social compliance side of the agricultural industry
  • Experience in stakeholder management

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team
  • Results oriented
  • Must be flexible to travel domestically and internationally
  • Drivers license is necessary
