The scheme SwissGAP FGK (Früchte, Gemüse und Kartoffeln / fruit, vegetables and potatoes) has finalized its GLOBALG.A.P. re-benchmarking as a resembling scheme against IFA Version 5. The scheme certifies only individual producers and operates exclusively in Switzerland. It is managed by “ Verein SwissGAP” located in Bern, Switzerland. Members of “Verein SwissGAP” are the sector associations swisscofel, VSGP, SOV, swisspatat, JardinSuisse, IP SUISSE and Bio Suisse.

SwissGAP FGK has already been benchmarked against GLOBALG.A.P. IFA Version 4. It was the very first scheme that received recognition as a resembling scheme when this new recognition level was introduced.

“Resembling” means that a scheme conforms to the GLOBALG.A.P. requirements to a large extent, however leaves some exceptions. These exceptions are displayed on the GLOBALG.A.P. website to help stakeholders determine whether the differences are relevant to them and to make a more informed decision on the acceptance of any resembling scheme. In the case of SwissGAP FGK, its certification/audit system differs from GLOBALG.A.P. General Regulations. However, its G.A.P. requirements are equivalent to GLOBALG.A.P. Control Points and Compliance Criteria (CPCC).
