Become a GLOBALG.A.P. Certification Body (CB)

Certification bodies that want to become GLOBALG.A.P. approved must be accredited for ISO/IEC 17065 for the relevant scope and sub-scope.
A GLOBALG.A.P. recognized accreditation body must be a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and signatory of the part of the Multilateral Agreement (MLA) on Product Certification. This means that the accreditation body  (AB) has been subject to a peer evaluation in the product certification field and has received a positive recommendation in its report.

GLOBALG.A.P. signs license and certification agreements (LCA) with certification bodies that have passed successfully the GLOBALG.A.P. internal approval process. The agreements and the accreditation ensure a standardized high level of quality and integrity.

5 Steps to Becoming a GLOBALG.A.P. IFA Approved Certification Body

  1. Read the CB requirements in the IFA General Regulations Part III - especially point 2.1 - and sign up for approval on our Certification Body Extranet.
  2. Apply for accreditation with an Accreditation Body (AB) – see the list of GLOBALG.A.P. recognized ABs here.
  3. Pay the applicable fees when you receive an invoice from the GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat.
  4. Once your application has been approved, your CB will be added to our list of approved certification bodies.
  5. All GLOBALG.A.P. inspectors and auditors are required to pass an online test and one In-house Trainer per CB must take part in a compulsory CB Training Workshop. All auditors have to attend the GLOBALG.A.P. QMS Auditor Training. Additionally, the designated Scheme Manager of the CB must take part in a yearly Scheme Manager Update Training (SMU).

If you wish to apply for a non-IFA standard, please contact the CB Approval Team directly for additional information.
