Dear Colleague,

Greetings from Madrid!

Please stop by and visit our booth at the FRUIT ATTRACTION tradeshow in Madrid, where we’re also holding our fall BOARD meeting to discuss and adopt our 2016 Marketing Plan.

If you’re interested in playing an active role in shaping our future over the next four years, you now have the opportunity to take part in the GLOBALG.A.P. standard development process in one of our various GLOBALG.A.P. Committees set up to facilitate participation and involvement. The public call for participation in the Technical Committees for the next term starting in 2016 is now open until 6 November 2015. The elections will take place from 16 November to 4 December 2015.

We are excited that the North America & UK retailer Whole Foods Market has joined us as a GLOBALG.A.P. member, strengthening our focus towards greater sustainability.

At the Anuga trade fair in Cologne, we launched a new product – the GLOBALG.A.P. Crops for Processing (CfP) Standard, designed for producers growing plants and crops used for further processing, such as cooking, freezing, and juicing, as well as for feed, and coffee for roasting. Our partner is the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform. The new CfP Standard is a combination of the GLOBALG.A.P. Fruit and Vegetables Standard with the SAI Platform Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA).

In food safety, we became the first and only standard/scheme for aquaculture to achieve GFSI recognition and we were invited to speak at a UN General Assembly event on how to implement the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030. See the video and my speech in the last 10 minutes here.

Here’s a list of other developments in our global community:
And here’s a list of upcoming IFA V5 Capacity Building and Farm Assurer Workshops:

Best regards,
Kristian Moeller
