GLOBALG.A.P. Community Newsletter Logo

Dear Colleague,

Greetings from Cologne,

We are pleased to welcome Shwapno, the largest neighborhood supermarket chain in Bangladesh, as a new retail member. Bangladesh has been a center of capacity building for produce farmers in 2016, and our new member wants to take advantage of getting access to the first local farms working under GLOBALG.A.P. Certification. If you are a produce buyer and do not yet use our "Bookmarking Tool", we have made it easier for you to source GLOBALG.A.P. certified products: Simply register online for this convenient service, which allows you to monitor the GLOBALG.A.P. certification status of all of your suppliers. Please find here the English registration and the German registration.

The market adoption of Version 5 of our IFA Standard is progressing strongly. Read more about SwissGAP`s successful re-benchmarking. Please note that Freshcare, the largest food safety scheme for produce in Australia, has published their decision to go through the GLOBALG.A.P. benchmarking process, in order to gain better access to southeast Asian markets. Read more here.

The number of languages of our "G.A.P. in Action" poster series has been increased and now includes Portuguese, in addition to English and Spanish. They are available online. See the download page here.

Our GGN.ORG consumer portal for aquaculture is picking up speed: The Scottish Salmon Company has become the first salmon producer in the UK to secure full GGN licensing. Read more here.

Some post-SUMMIT news: More than 34 presentations have been made available for free download.

As the end of the year is drawing closer, we are now reviewing our communication and media presence, and I would very much appreciate your help: May I draw your attention to a 5-minute online survey, which will help us to ascertain how you use our website and what we might improve? I hope you can participate via the following link: Thanks for your support.

While October is the month of the two big produce shows (PMA in the USA and Fruit Attraction in Spain), which are both important events for us, our staff are also making their way to the China Fisheries Expo in Qingdao and the Eurotier in Hanover, Germany. So please join us there.

Best regards,

Kristian Moeller
