Gary's Statement
I will bring a global perspective to the Board of GLOBALG.A.P. One that not only looks at
developing markets and economies and their capability challenges to become part of the global
supply-chain but also the brand authenticity and integrity needs of current members and certificate
holders.
I support GLOBALG.A.P. to become the foundation of world GAP programmes. To achieve and
maintain this goal it must have a clear strategy for its management and all members and
stakeholders.
I support the rules-based trade platforms of the WTO but also believe that the future of
trade requires the development of industry to industry relationships and trust between trading
nations and markets. GAP forms the base for this relationship and GLOBALG.A.P. has a unique role to
play as we look to feed 10 billion people by 2050.
I have the support of the Southern Hemisphere Association of Fresh Fruit Exporters
(SHAFFE).
