Thank you to all applicants for sharing their wonderful success stories with us. We received 26 applications from 16 countries, 4 applications from the Philippines alone. Our winners are from Fiji, Costa Rica, Tanzania and Japan.

It is with great pleasure that we can announce the winners of the G.A.P. Awards 2016.

Here they are:

Goshogawara Agricultural and Forestry High School from Japan

Muviwapasi Association c/o Africado Ltd. from Tanzania

Ranadi Plantation Partnership from Fiji

Varcli Pinares S.A. from Costa Rica

This year’s G.A.P. Awards 2016 focused on the following three categories:

  1. Talent for agriculture, women and youth
  2. Water management
  3. Integration of smallholders

These were assessed according to the following criteria:

  • Traceability – IT / transparency usage
  • Push for partnerships / co-operations (public, private, etc.)
  • Innovative practices / technologies
  • Economic aspects / created value
  • Passion and powerful story

The four winners have shown outstanding performance and achievements in one or more of the above areas. It was particularly gratifying to see how all of these GLOBALG.A.P. certified producers evolved into long-time loyal partners, choosing to implement GLOBALG.A.P. principles on their farms and production facilities over many years.

GLOBALG.A.P. initiated the G.A.P. Awards in 2012 to honour GLOBALG.A.P. certified producers who have achieved outstanding results through their commitment to GLOBALG.A.P. principles and the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices.
