These new videos are based on our existing posters related to waste management, hygiene during and after harvest, and plant protection products. These topics were considered key for a successful adoption of the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard among Jamaican producers to increase their competitiveness in international markets. We are now happy to be able to share these videos publicly so that stakeholders all over the world can use them for training, sharing knowledge, and facilitating the spread of good agricultural practices.

With the support of the Ministry of Industries, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries of Jamaica, the Caribbean Development Bank, and the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Fund, GLOBALG.A.P. has now been able to bring three additional G.A.P. posters into video format.

Between 2019 and 2020, GLOBALG.A.P. supported the Government of Jamaica in reviewing its approach towards GLOBALG.A.P. facilitation. This review lead to recommendations on how to build a framework that could promote a long-term sustainability of its approach on GLOBALG.A.P. The framework includes the identification of key challenges in implementation, training technical experts, and creating training materials to be used by those experts in producer trainings. Developing new videos was part of this training concept.

Waste Management Video

Plant Protection Products Video: Selection and Application
What to consider when selecting and applying plant protection products in line with the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA standard. The video includes elements from the plant protection products "GAP in Action" poster. Click here to watch the video.

With the "G.A.P. in Action" initiative, GLOBALG.A.P. is inviting everyone to join us on our mission to promote good agricultural practices around the world. To do so, we have developed 15 "G.A.P. in Action" posters – a series of instructional posters breaking down complex food safety requirements into basic implementation instructions. The initiative was part of the "G.A.P. in Action" project in Latin America between 2014 and 2016. In a later project, one of the posters turned into the first G.A.P. in Action video on integrated pest management (IPM).
