The beautiful northern and central Adriatic regions at which the farms of the Croation company Cromaris d.d. are located, are the ideal environment for high quality, open-sea farming. The company, which was established in 2009, has seven farms, two of which are located in Istria (northern Adriatic), and five in the Zadar region (central Adriatic). With its 350 employees, Cromaris produces a range of top quality white fish: sea bass, sea bream, and meagre. The fish are offered whole, gutted, and as fillets or steaks. Furthermore, deli sea bass and sea bream fillets are also produced using the traditional methods of smoking and marinating. Fresh fish is sold in bulk and in MAP (modified atmosphere packaging). Cromaris products do not contain preservatives or GMOs. Traceability from raw material to the final product is guaranteed by a strictly controlled process of production, processing, and distribution. The company received its first GLOBALG.A.P. certificate in April 2015.
