The Certified Natural Meat Program of Uruguay (CNMPU) is now officially recognized as equivalent to the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA Standard Version 4 for Cattle & Sheep under the category Approved Modified Checklist. CNMPU operates in Uruguay.

Created in 2001 by INAC - Instituto Nacional de Carnes, Uruguay’s National Meat Institute, in response to the growing demand for food safety, traceability, animal welfare and environmental sustainability in the meat industry, CNMPU aims to increase consumer confidence in meat products from Uruguay and add value to the Uruguayan Beef and Lamb Industry.

The Certified Natural Meat Program follows a strict production and processing scheme, accredited by independent international certification agencies, to produce top quality beef that complies with food safety and traceability requirements. Uruguay's Certified Natural Meat Program certifies the entire meat production process all the way through packing and labeling.
