Name Maniagro SA
Country Argentina

Maniagro Argentina (Maniagro SA) is a company dedicated to the production, selection and export of peanuts. Established in 2009, the company began working with Good Agricultural Practice right from the very beginning. Maniagro SA first began by complying with the requirements and instructions set by the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), which belongs to the National Health Service and Food Quality (SENASA). The company also relied on the knowledge and experience of other producers.

Two years ago, Maniagro achived GLOBALG.A.P. Certification as part of its efforts not only to meet customer and market demands but also to address global issues such as the worldwide demand for food, population growth and climate change as well as the need to reduce greenhouse gas, produce renewable energy, and grow safe and healthy food.

Maniagro Argentina also aims to develop an integrated production system that is aligned with industry processes. As a result, it is the only peanut producing company in Argentina that can offer Neutral Carbon Peanuts, thanks to the audit performed by the Carbon Reduction Institute (Australia) in coordination with its subsidiary Green Solutions (Chile).

Maniagro Argentina is also certified against Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) since November 2008, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) since November 2009, and the Global Food Safety Standard - British Retail Consortium - British Retail Consortium (BRC) since May 2011. On December 2012, Maniagro Argentina successfully underwent a verification visit by the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), which confirmed the company’s full adoption of the ETI’s Base Code.

Maniagro Argentina (Maniagro SA) is the first peanut producing company in Argentina and the only one in South America to achieve GLOBALG.A.P. Certification. Maniagro SA obtained GLOBALG.A.P. Certification to ensure and demonstrate that its exported products are in compliance with the highest standards of food safety, quality, health, traceability and sustainable development.

To increase its agricultural productivity, the company also invests extensively in the research and development of existing technologies as well as varieties or cultivars tolerant to drought and/or salinity, nitrogen-efficient in high yield and with higher value added (oils with higher content of oleic acid).
