Producer Profile

Dolefil operates a fully integrated plantation and industrial facility in Polomolok, South Cotabato in Mindanao, for the production of fresh and processed pineapple for the export market. It also has operations in General Santos City, Municipality of Surallah in South Cotabato, and in the Municipalities of Maramag and Talakag in Bukidnon.

The company operates on about 15,000 hectares as its base plantation. About 8,000 hectares of which is being leased by the company from the Dolefil Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (DARBC), and about 5,000 hectares is also being leased from 1,600 individual landowners. Another 5,000 hectares are grower plantations. There are about 1,500 pineapple growers belonging to five (5) grower cooperatives. The grower program ensures the growers better return compared to farming traditional products like rice and corn which suffer from market price fluctuations and poor post-harvest facilities.

It has established itself as the preferred employer in the region, with a turn-over rate of only 0.48% (PD 11 YTD), and a compensation and benefit package which is clearly superior to those being offered by any other employer in the region, and comparable to the best employers in the Philippines. The company directly employs about 4,600 regular employees. Pay and benefits for the lowest paid worker amounts to PhP 712 per day.

The company likewise enters in to contracts with various duly registered job contractors, growers and service providers for different job contracts. These contractors, growers and service providers may be corporations, cooperatives, or single proprietorships duly registered and authorized as such to conduct business.


As a GLOBALG.A.P. certified company, Dolefil goes beyond above legal compliance of workplace standards on: 1) Workers Health, Safety and Welfare, 2) Waste and Pollution Management, Recycling and Re-Use, 3) Environment and Conservation, 4) Soil Management, 5) Integrated Pest Management, 6) Plant Protection Products. This standard also requires Dolefil to have all its contractors, service providers, growers and business partners to also comply with the same strict standards, against which standards they are likewise being audited by internal and external auditors. Contracts entered into by the company specifically provide that failure by these contractors, service providers, growers and business partners to comply with these standards, among others, is a ground for termination/cancellation of the contract.

Dolefil’s multiple certifications from international certifying and regulatory bodies --- ISO 9001 (Quality Systems), ISO 14001 (Environment), WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) -- all covering its entire operations, as well as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices, Kosher, Halal, FPA-SAFE (Food Products Association-Supplier Audits for Food Excellence), International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Facilities (ISPS), and Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) among others attest to its commitment to excellence, quality and social responsibility.

The Kapatiran sa Industriya (KAPATID) Award was conferred by President Benigno “Noynoy” S. Aquino III himself during the Closing Ceremonies of the National Conference of Employers (NCE) at the Marriot Hotel in Pasay City on May 5, 2011.

Dolefil’s Treebute (tree planting activity) to the environment continues to amplify the verdant landscape of the Municipalities of Polomolok, Tupi and Surallah, South Cotabato. As of the moment, Dolefil planted over 3 million trees and almost halfway in turning dreams to reality. This continues to bond the Dolefil employees with the environment and at the same time bond families and the community together: leaving an indelible tribute and a noble legacy for the future.
