A QR Code is a way to link information to a tiny scannable icon on the package. It is usually
black and white.
You can use a QR code to provide a link to your GGN in the GLOBALG.A.P. database as well as
other information.
The embedded QR code may contain the following information according to our General Regulations:
- The GGN of the producer or company that labels the product.
- A URL of the GGN validation website that is linked to the GLOBALG.A.P. database. You can find an example here. (4059883961102)
- The URL of the GLOBALG.A.P. database.
- The batch number of the product.
- A link to the producer’s website.
- Combinations of the above.
Free online programs can be used to create a QR code. GLOBALG.A.P. does not offer its own app or
further designs. A wide variety of online applications including various free services are
available.
The GLOBALG.A.P. logo is a different topic. It will be provided by your
certification body on request, along with the rules for its usage.
