The Sustainable Agriculture Initiative Platform (SAI Platform) is a global food and drink value chain initiative for sustainable agriculture. SAI Platform aims to harness the collaborative power of its members to accelerate the widespread adoption of sustainable agriculture practices and the transformation to sustainable food systems. One of the ways that SAI Platform is achieving this is through the development of the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) tool. The FSA enables food and drink businesses to assess, improve, and validate on-farm sustainability in their supply chains.
Since 2014, GLOBALG.A.P. and SAI Platform have partnered up to offer an innovative approach that benefits from the expertise and long experience of both organizations.
There are two lines in work on this cooperation, the first one being the GLOBALG.A.P. Farm Sustainability Assessment (GGFSA) add-on which can be used with the IFA or CFP standards. Secondly, the GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat manages the FSA verification bodies based on the procedures jointly developed with SAI Platform to ensure the highest level of integrity while avoiding duplication of efforts by all stakeholders.
