Take a minute and imagine a gender-inclusive world.
A world without bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. Where
people of all genders, faiths, and ages can exist harmoniously among one another without fear of
prejudice or judgement. A world that is diverse. Where you can walk the street and apply for jobs
without concerns of unfair treatment. A world where differences are acknowledged and celebrated.
Where these differences are applauded, not chastised.
This is what we at GLOBALG.A.P. strive for.
What we’re working towards
Significant progress is being made across many sectors and in many
areas of our everyday life, but it’s still not enough. GLOBALG.A.P. will continue to strive for
equality between genders, so that everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive, regardless of where
they started out in life. Our aim is to be a company that continually supports all of its
employees, no matter their gender, department, or role.
An urgent and apt theme
The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is “Gender
equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,” which seeks to recognize the contributions made by
women within the climate change and sustainability sectors. Women’s work within the agricultural
sector often goes unnoticed in comparison to that of their male counterparts. This year’s theme
seeks to rectify this and honor the hard work women in these fields do on a daily basis.
Championing power in diversity
At GLOBALG.A.P., more than half of the workforce are women. This
includes women from 30 countries – all from different cultural backgrounds. We at GLOBALG.A.P.
champion the differences that make us unique andare driven by the united power that the peoplethat
work with this organizationhold. We celebrate women’s achievements and believe in building an
organization where women thrive.
We provide a safe space for women within the agricultural sector.
Together, we can work to upholdwomen’s rights. Together, we can all #BreakTheBias and act for
equality.
