GLOBALG.A.P. country partners play an important role in spreading good agricultural practices around the globe. From November 2020 onward, FRULEG-RO will promote the cause in Romania. The four-year-old association already has around 150 members – the perfect base to build upon.
Who are FRULEG-RO?
Founded in 2016, FRULEG-RO is an association of agricultural organizations and producer
groups which seeks to represent their collective interests on a national and European stage.
FRULEG-RO supports the development of the horticulture and agriculture sector by promoting and
lobbying for the interests of fruit and vegetable producers and garnering support from national
institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture. It also offers trainings and management programs
to members and promote its members’ products via various channels, including TV, social media, and
live events.
Making an impact
FRULEG-RO currently has around 150 producer members, many of which are also part of
associations, groups, or limited companies. Many of these producers have already implemented good
agricultural practices and have achieved GLOBALG.A.P. certification for their production processes.
Within its new role as GLOBALG.A.P. country partner, FRULEG-RO will further promote GLOBALG.A.P.
standards within Romania and the Balkans. It will offer further trainings, help develop the network
of GLOBALG.A.P. Farm Assurers in the area, and empower members to participate in the development of
future GLOBALG.A.P. standards.
“As an official GLOBALG.A.P. country partner, we are excited to support Romania and
neighboring countries in developing good agricultural practices for a sustainable future,” says
Lucian Florea, president of the FRULEG-RO association. “We will continue to foster connections and
partnerships through industry networking and hope to grow the member base here. We look forward to
the opportunities this partnership will bring and are passionate about playing our role in
advancing the global cause of safe and sustainable agriculture.”
