Milan/Brussels: Friend of the Sea – FOS – and GLOBALG.A.P. announce a collaboration that offers consumer labelling for more than two million tonnes of aquaculture products.

GLOBALG.A.P. certified aquaculture farms will only need to be assessed against a few additional sustainability criteria to become eligible to use the international consumer sustainability FOS label for aquaculture. This recognition reduces duplication of farm audits considerably. In return, FOS certified farms are able to add the GLOBALG.A.P. audit with their next annual re-certification audit.
Consumers will be able to recognize seafood products covered by the collaboration as they carry the FOS label and the claim: “Responsibly farmed” with a GLOBALG.A.P. farm number: “GGN 1234567891092”.

Friend of the Sea and GLOBALG.A.P. will be participating in the Seafood Expo Global 2014, in Brussels. A News Conference, scheduled on 7th May, will highlight their partnership. Don't miss Mr. Paolo Bray, Director of Friend of the Sea, speak on "Friend of the Sea Aquaculture Label Uses GLOBALG.A.P. Certification".
