With more than 11,000 producers having pledged their commitment to social responsibility through GRASP–the GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice, the voluntary add-on module has become an important tool for demonstrating social compliance. The latest revision brings several changes and improvements.

The aim of the revision process was to create a more user-friendly GRASP checklist, as well as implement clearer rules to improve the understanding of GRASP requirements, the usability and evaluation of the assessment checklist, and the assessment quality.

Changes to the new version of the GRASP Assessment Checklist:

  • Extended GRASP Master Data requirements that include company data, subcontracted activities, and employment structure
  • An improved assessment checklist
  • GRASP assessment result scoring system
  • A new checklist management tool

The GRASP General Rules V1.3 now provide:

  • Additional alternative for applications for GRASP assessments in countries without a National Interpretation Guideline
  • More clearly defined qualification requirements for GRASP in-house trainers
  • Clarification of frequently asked (open) questions regarding assessment procedures

The new GRASP Module (Control Points and Compliance Criteria), GRASP Assessment Checklist, and GRASP General Rules V1.3 have been published in English and German (other languages will follow) and can be downloaded at http://www.globalgap.org/grasp
