The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing the base of food industry players (brand manufacturers, commodities traders, processors, retailers), which support the system and the organization. He/she will be also responsible for increasing revenues and market share of GLOBALG.A.P. in the region. One of the main goals is to promote the wide range of GLOBALG.A.P. solutions among new and existing customers, through effective relationship and account management.

The Key Account Manager will implement the organization’s strategy at regional level, reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet international and local food industry player in different countries in the region to offer GLOBALG.A.P. solutions.
  • Leverage industry expertise to support customer food sourcing strategies
  • Membership: to increase the number of members from Europe.
  • Capacity building & Trainings: to offer and promote our training solutions.
  • Farm Assurer Program: to promote and to attract new consultants to our network of GLOBALG.A.P. Licensed Farm Assurers.
  • Detect business opportunities and satisfy the needs of the current base of clients.
  • Develop and improve the network of contacts in the region in order to meet their needs and strengthen relationships.
  • Analyze market and industry tendencies and report these trends to the CMO and the team in order to evaluate and to jointly decide new actions.
  • Create, implement and maintain action plans for each one of the accounts assigned in order to take advantage of the opportunities and solve situations.
  • Important liaison between GLOBALG.A.P. relationships in the region and the GLOBALG.A.P. Headquarter in Cologne, Germany.
  • Set client expectations in conjunction with the client account leadership and manage the expectations

Job Specifications:

1. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related areas. Master’s degree is preferred (MBA).

2. Skills

  • Any European language as a mother tongue. English is necessary to communicate with the HQ in Germany. Dutch and/or French will be an advantage.
  • The candidate for this position must be a committed and highly collaborative individual who values the input of colleagues and involves others in important decision-making process.
  • Strong customer- and result-orientation
  • A good personality and attitude: open-minded, honest, precise, team player.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office: Word, Power Point, and Excel).
  • Basic knowledge of sales budgeting process, marketing techniques, production and distribution processes.
  • Build trust-based relationship/client-centric
  • Leadership skills and experience will be appreciated.

3. Experience

  • 5-7 years of working experience in Brand manufacturers, FMCG Food, Food Service, Supermarkets, Commodity Traders
  • Background in Key Account Management and experience in Sales and/or Marketing.

4. Requirements

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time both domestically and internationally.
