The GLOBALG.A.P. Residue Monitoring System (RMS)

In the 2018 November Board meeting the Board has decided the GLOBALG.A.P. will develop and operate a central database where recognized existing RMS schemes provide data. GLOBALG.A.P. shall run the recognition process and the database.

The task of the RMS Expert Panel is to agree on data sharing models of the recognized RMS: define recognition model, reporting content the recognized RMS has to share with GLOBALG.A.P.

How could an IFA certified producer comply?

Important to note that the current system in the IFA will not change, the GLOBALG.A.P. RMS will be an additional level.

  1. Producer may do self-sampling. The number of samples, products and active ingredients to be analyzed may be reduced following the producer’s risk assessment.
  2. The producer group (option 2 QMS) may run a RMS for their members (second party RMS) that is evaluated by the CB according to IFA CB Annex 5.
  3. The producer may use independent RMS providers, which are evaluated by the CB according to IFA CB Annex 5. These can be second or third party RMS.
  4. (New) GLOBALG.A.P. Recognized RMS. There will be “recognized’’ RMS that are approved by the CB, additionally evaluated by GLOBALG.A.P. and which share data in the GLOBALG.A.P. Database. The GLOBALG.A.P. RMS consists of all Residue Monitoring Systems that meet the GLOBALG.A.P. requirements to be listed in and connected to the GLOBALG.A.P. Database according to the ‘’models’’ that are based on the Board agreed principles.

The term of the RMS Expert Panel will be March until December 2019.
