GLOBALG.A.P. Incorporation and Governance

GLOBALG.A.P. is a trademark and a set of standards for good agricultural practices (G.A.P.).

FoodPLUS GmbH is a limited liability cooperation registered in Cologne, Germany. It manages all company’s activities worldwide from standard setting through services for its partners, marketing, certification management to integrity and serves as legal entity to hold the international GLOBALG.A.P. and GGN (consumer label for GLOBALG.A.P. certified farms) copyrights.

FoodPLUS GmbH is governed by an elected Advisory Board consisting of an equal number of representatives from retail/foodservice and producer/supplier organizations. Financial and legal ownership of FoodPLUS GmbH is held by the EHI Retail Institute e.V. via its 100% subsidiary EHI-Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH. GLOBALG.A.P. North America Inc. is a USA corporation whose sole owner is FoodPLUS GmbH.

GLOBALG.A.P. Committees

GLOBALG.A.P. standards and implementation are developed and defined by various Technical Committees, Focus Groups and the Certification Body Committee. National Technical Working Groups support the work of the committees on a local level. The Integrity Surveillance Committee (ISC) assesses integrity issues and certification body non-conformances,defines correctional measures and proposes sanctions.

1 The GLOBALG.A.P. members elect the GLOBALG.A.P. Advisory Board.
2 The GLOBALG.A.P. Advisory Board gives direction to the GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat, the technical committees, and the focus groups.
3 The GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat gives direction within the frameworks of Advisory Board resolutions to the Benchmarking, Certification Body, and Integrity Surveillance Committees, and the national technical working groups (NTWGs).
4 The technical committees give direction to the focus groups (as outlined in the respective focus group terms of reference).
