Welcoming your comments on the new workers’ well-being standard, launching 2025

In development since mid-2023, the new GLOBALG.A.P. workers’ well-being standard is due to launch in 2025. As we progress towards this milestone, we highly value your insights and invite you to contribute your invaluable feedback to help shape the General Rules Specifications of the standard.

Documents now available for comment

From 24 April to 24 May, we welcome your comments and feedback on the new standard. In particular, we are keen to hear your perspectives on key aspects including:

  1. Risk assessment in commercial relationships: The standard introduces a comprehensive risk assessment of commercial relationships to define the audit methodology. We are keen to receive your thoughts on the effectiveness of this assessment procedure in achieving its objectives.

  2. Scope and limits indicated by risk assessment: The result of the risk assessment informs the scope and limits of the audit methodology, considering various aspects such as types of commercial clients, operational engagement, and monitoring policies. We are interested in your perspective on the feasibility and effectiveness of auditing these diverse elements.

  3. Diversity in audit methodologies: Acknowledging the different auditing methodologies implemented by the diverse auditees, we seek your feedback on their efficacy in achieving the goals of human and labor verification outlined in the standard.

  4. Efficiency in audit procedure: Sample sizes are defined using a statistical equation. We invite your insights on whether this approach enhances efficiency in the audit procedure and if the designated sizes provide adequate information on the sampled population.

  5. Methods of verification: Considering the varying methodologies, we would appreciate your thoughts on the appropriateness of interviews, document reviews, and visits to commercial partners as methods of verification.

We encourage all stakeholders to have their say and actively contribute to the refinement of the worker’s well-being standard. Your feedback is instrumental in shaping a comprehensive and effective framework.
