Since the launch of the new GGN logo and the introduction of the agriculture scope in April 2021, the GGN label has continued to grow. There are now well over 1,600 products with the GGN label in stores in 40 countries. From October 2022, another product type becomes available for labeling - fruit and vegetable plants in pots.

Potted fruit and vegetable plants

This category represents a special case, as fruit and vegetable plants in pots are primarily produced by flowers and ornamentals growers and traded in the floriculture supply chain under the general category of “plants”. However, the products themselves – such as vegetable plants, fruit trees, berry bushes, and herbs – are classified under the certification sub-scope of fruit and vegetables (under the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard).

With an increasing number of products available for labeling in more and more countries, the GGN label is gaining traction among retailers and consumers alike. If you are interested in more information on the new category, please contact info@ggn.org.
