The GLOBALG.A.P. certification system would not have achieved the widespread impact it has today without the support and contribution of our stakeholders in the value chain. As part of our emphasis on collaboration, GLOBALG.A.P. Producer/Supplier community membership is for you if:
You implement a GLOBALG.A.P. solution or trade with/pack for entities who do
You support a streamlined approach to production standards for food safety as well as social and environmental sustainability
You want to collaborate with decision-makers across the supply chain
Retail/Food service community membership is for you if:
You sell or market to consumers
You source from (or are interested in sourcing from) producers with GLOBALG.A.P. certified production processes
You understand the need for upholding and improving food safety, sustainability, and traceability standards
Associate community membership is for you if:
You are not directly involved in producing, trading, or selling products originating from GLOBALG.A.P. certified production processes but have a role in supporting the farming industry and supply chains

No, certification to a GLOBALG.A.P. standard or add-on/holding a GLOBALG.A.P. certificate is not the same as being a GLOBALG.A.P. Community Member.
Community membership is a paid partnership opportunity, offering a variety of benefits including the ability to support the development of GLOBALG.A.P. standards and add-ons, contribute to the GLOBALG.A.P. governance structure, and access discounted services.
GLOBALG.A.P. certification is the process of undergoing an audit against a GLOBALG.A.P. standard and/or add-on. Certification is applicable for producers and specific supply chain members who handle products originating from certified production processes. Producers must be GLOBALG.A.P. certificate holders in order to become a community member.

GLOBALG.A.P. Community Members support the GLOBALG.A.P. vision and mission by implementing and/or promoting our standards and making use of our services. They actively contribute to improving GLOBALG.A.P. solutions through valuable feedback, participation on the GLOBALG.A.P. Advisory Board, as well as in national technical working groups and stakeholder consultation processes.

All GLOBALG.A.P. Community Members enjoy a range of benefits tailored to their community membership category. These range from the option to join the GLOBALG.A.P. Advisory Board or committees, opportunities for collaboration on communal projects, the promotion of company logos, and the provision of an exclusive GLOBALG.A.P. seal. Members also enjoy savings on selected GLOBALG.A.P. trainings and services.

You can start your GLOBALG.A.P. Community Membership application by filling out the online application form. The application process usually takes up to two weeks.

Associate community membership is an opportunity for those who do not belong to the or retail/food service categories to join the GLOBALG.A.P. Community. Many certification bodies, Registered Trainers, or agricultural technology providers are already associate community members.

GLOBALG.A.P. Community Membership fees are charged annually. Please see the GLOBALG.A.P. fee table for the latest information.
This is determined by the location of the branch that is responsible for paying the community membership fee. If this branch is located in the USA or Canada, then you will pay in US dollars (US$). If this branch is located elsewhere, you will pay the fee in euros (€).
Your community membership becomes effective on the date your application is approved by the GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat and remains valid until the end of the calendar year. It will be automatically extended for successive 12-month periods unless you terminate your membership.

Due to differing legal obligations there are two versions of the GLOBALG.A.P. Community Membership terms and conditions: one for businesses operating in the USA and Canada, and/or one for businesses operating elsewhere. If you operate both in and outside the USA and/or Canada, both terms and conditions apply.
