The TOUR 2015 Stop in Tokyo highlighted Japan’s strong commitment to bring Japanese agriculture to a new level through the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices, with efforts resonating in the country’s public and private sectors.

In a statement sent to delegates prior to the event, Dr. Kristian Moeller, GLOBALG.A.P. CEO said, “Speakers at the last TOUR event in 2013 confirmed GLOBALG.A.P. as the tool for food safety and a more stable local production with a greater focus on exporting to international markets–a priority of Japanese agriculture in the coming years. I am very pleased that the Japanese government has established a support fund for Japanese growers to prepare themselves for GLOBALG.A.P. Certification. Spreading Good Agricultural Practices among small-scale farmers is a core mission at GLOBALG.A.P. and we welcome collaboration on all levels to attain this important goal."
