Why these events matter
Speaking about the importance of the TOUR stop, Mahinda Wahome, Technical Lead East Africa and Asia at Agraya commented: “This is a very important event and a valuable platform for participants in the eastern Africa region to learn about the benefits of certification, share expertise, expand trade networks, and discuss the latest industry challenges.
Events like this strengthen local capacities and connect producers to global markets. There was a particularly significant session in which the European Union’s (EU) Import Promotion Desk (IPD) highlighted their role in match-making between local growers and retailers/traders from the EU.
The event was also used to highlight some of the new GLOBALG.A.P. solutions, as well as launching the reorganized National Technical Working Group (NTWG) Kenya and its new host Rootooba”.
