Background information and objective
Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) for plant propagation material is a global standard for the responsible farming of propagation material for plant nurseries.
The standard covers all stages of production and is built on a holistic approach that covers the key topics of environment, workers’ health, safety, and welfare, production processes, and traceability.
The version 6 update follows the other product categories of the IFA plants scope which were published in September 2022, and marks the transition to a smarter, streamlined, and outcome-oriented plant propagation material standard. It is scheduled for launch in 2025.
Public consultation for IFA v6 for plant propagation material has been completed.
The standard will now be reviewed and finalized by the technical committees, and then recommended to the GLOBALG.A.P. Advisory Board for adoption in 2025.
