Update on the new GLOBALG.A.P. IT system, in development with our partner osapiens
As communicated to our IT system users earlier this year, GLOBALG.A.P. is in the process of transitioning to a new IT infrastructure in collaboration with osapiens. The strategic partnership aims to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions to our stakeholders, streamlining processes and optimizing productivity.
About the new IT infrastructure
osapiens is partnering with GLOBALG.A.P. to build a new, state-of-the-art platform that is robust, scalable, and fast. It will cover the functions currently provided by the GLOBALG.A.P. database and Validation Service. In 2025, a unified system will consolidate all the information in one place, making data retrieval faster, easier, and more efficient.
The new IT system will be used both as an audit operating system for certification bodies – with functions such as registration process, audit reporting, and issuing certificates – as well as a portal for supply chain stakeholders with functions such as bookmarking and audit report sharing (depending on data access rights).
Testing, migration, and launch timeline
Formal testing is currently in progress and the next step is to migrate data, including all active certificates and audit reports, from existing systems to the new system. Once the migration is complete and the new system is live, all previous systems, including the GLOBALG.A.P. database, will no longer be accessible.
An initial timeline scheduled the go-live date for the new system for January 2025. However, we have now postponed this deadline to allow more time for implementation, training, and feedback. The new timeline is as follows:
Go-live date: End of February 2025
Official launch: 1 March 2025
