GLOBALG.A.P. solutions soon to cover all three scopes of the FSI “Basket of Standards”

The Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI) aims to promote responsible sourcing in the floriculture sector through its Basket of Standards. This framework helps flower and ornamental plant producers to meet environmental, social, and GAP criteria, reducing audit fatigue and increasing transparency in the supply chain.

In 2025, GLOBALG.A.P. will be able to offer solutions aligning with all three key pillars of the FSI Basket of Standards: Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Environmental registration, and Social responsibility.

GAP pillar: GLOBALG.A.P.'s Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) for flowers and ornamentals has long served as a recognized benchmark for Good Agricultural Practices within the FSI framework. This certification aims to support responsible sourcing and aligns with the FSI 2025 ambition.

Environmental registration pillar: To meet environmental registration requirements, GLOBALG.A.P. offers the Impact-Driven Approach to Sustainability (IDA), as an add-on to IFA or as a standalone module. IDA assists flower and ornamental producers with the digital registration and analysis of their input consumption data and other farm metrics via approved farm management software.

Social responsibility pillar: The latest addition is GLOBALG.A.P.’s upcoming Social Responsibility standard, which will enable growers to meet the social pillar requirements of the FSI Basket. This new certification targets important social and labor conditions in flower and ornamental production in high-risk countries, as defined by the GLOBALG.A.P. Country Risk Classification Concept. It will launch in Q3 2025.

By offering solutions for all three pillars, GLOBALG.A.P. continues to support the floriculture sector in achieving responsible production and sourcing while minimizing audit fatigue. This development reinforces GLOBALG.A.P.’s commitment to driving transparency and efficiency in agricultural certification.
