GLOBALG.A.P. TOUR 2017 Japan!

Approximately 100 participants from various backgrounds attended a half-day tour stop organized in the center of Nagoya City at the heart of Tokai district on Honshu Island, Japan.

The session was opened by Mr. S. Fujii, CEO of Agri Incubator K.K., followed by the key note address by Mr. T. Yokota, Managing Director of GAP Extension Organization Inc., who both were the co-organizers of this event. MAFF also delivered a speech and expressed its commitment to support GLOBALG.A.P. Certification as one of the schemes for sustainable sourcing agricultural products supplied to Tokyo 2020 Games.

Dr. Kristian Moeller, CEO of GLOBALG.A.P., also took part in the tour stop and explained that GLOBALG.A.P. provides a partnership for sustainable agriculture around the world. GLOBALG.A.P.’s Japan consultant H. Imataki then went on to describe the importance of Good Agricultural Practices and GLOBALG.A.P.’s approach in the past.

This event is one of this year’s nationwide series of GLOBALG.A.P. seminars that began in February in Tokyo, Japan. The organizers are planning to host similar activities in Kyushu, Hokkaido, and the Tohoku area by February next year. At every event, many examples of

GLOBALG.A.P. practices are shown, and at this even four actual cases were presented to enable participants to understand what GLOBALG.A.P. actually stands for.
